I’ve been just watched this movie.(Which is sometimes bad or good time to judge/ criticise. So, maybe I will add additional thoughts existing after a while at this blog). Anyways, I have certain thoughts about this. To begin with, of course the negatives, one of these is related to the luck of those children’s meeting . This may/should be more reasonable bc what a coincidence it is, those two men’s children find each other at huge high school. Another one compose of my perception more. This is that as if the film consists of three part; Ryan gosling’s , Bradley Cooper’s, then their kids lives. First transition of them make me feel uncomfortable like what will happen next if Luke is dead and why Ryan gosling was dead early (bc I loved this character and we wonder how he would handle their problems but also if it goes like what we accept, this can be a ordinary film or not.) Maybe this death incident can be more obvious before watching this film through trailer and summary, idk. Because we are in anticipation about watching Luke’s life. The other one is that after Luke and Mo made love, Mo did not act abnormally toward to her boyfriend. Maybe, this is because they do not want to extend Luck’s part no more. However, some piece of reaction can help us to feel their slight bond between Luke and Mo.( I know I’m always writing her short name bc I do not even remember, so this way is more logical.). Anyways, after the first transition, I was accustomed to them, and those did not make me uneasy. So, Good part time… Avery(Bradley)’s selfishness is always there in some extent, which I appreciated. Since, It was not like random movie characters who make a big mistake. He did not decided to be good suddenly. This situation is more like normal selfish and bad people in our world. By the way, He is not also so bad and devil, just selfish. Another one is match or similarity between Luke’s motorcycle and his son’s bike, which feel good and sincere. On the other hand, the film can transfer its characters’ personalities and feeling to audience in a good way. We can observe all characters. Furthermore, Both Luke and his son Jason do not want to kill Avery, and they did not.
Similar scene is happening , and this situation also affects us emotionally. Moreover, Avery’s status and luck is growing up, the life on lies(is it correct use?). And his attitude against these development is giving us interpretations about his character. I liked this because this show us hidden bad people look like innocent around us. And last good thing is that Luke’s son Jason bought a motorcycle with money stolen from Avery.
To sum up, It is a good film. Nevertheless, trailer misleads us as always it does. As a result, to me, this film was good for analyzing its characters.
